If you had told me a few years ago that starting a business would lead me to God, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But looking back, I can’t imagine a better way for Him to reveal Himself to me.
The last two years have tested me in ways I never expected. Running a legitimate business—one that puts quality and customer experience first—has pushed me to my limits. It’s tested my grit, my faith, my love for this industry, my sanity, and even my family. But through all of it, God was there.
The Pressure of Building Something Real
Starting a business isn’t just about making money—it’s about responsibility. Every decision matters. Every mistake costs you. There were moments when I felt completely alone, moments where the stress was overwhelming, and I questioned whether I was really cut out for this.
But that’s exactly when God started working on me.
- When things felt impossible, He provided.
- When I doubted myself, He reminded me why I started.
- When I felt like I had no control, He showed me I never did—and that was okay.
I had to reach a place where my own strength wasn’t enough. That’s when I finally started listening.
Faith, Patience, and Learning to Let Go
Running a business forces you to have faith. Not just in yourself, but in something bigger.
There were months where I wasn’t sure how I’d cover payroll. Jobs that didn’t go as planned. Customers that were impossible to please. But over time, I started realizing that the best I let go and trusted God, the more things fell into place.
That doesn’t mean it got easier. It just meant I stopped trying to control everything and started trusting that there was a bigger plan at work.
Why I Thank Him Every Day
I used to think success was all about grinding harder than the next guy. And while hard work is important, it’s nothing without faith.
Now, there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t thank God for:
- The opportunities He’s given me
- The lessons He’s taught me through struggle
- The people He’s placed in my life
- The business He’s allowed me to build
I know that everything I have is because of Him. And no matter how successful I become, I’ll never forget that.
The Best Way to Find God? Start a Business.
I honestly believe that one of the best ways to find God is to start a business.
Because when you build something real—something that serves people, something that requires sacrifice, something that tests you in every way possible—you realize pretty quickly that you can’t do it alone.
God was there the whole time. It just took me a while to figure it out.
